Brunswick Corporation (BC)

Brunswick--which makes boats, marine motors and other recreational equipment--posted a loss of $114.3 million, or $1.29 a share, compared with a year-earlier loss of $729.1 million, or $8.26 a share. The results included charges of 8 cents and $7.93, respectively. Revenue decreased 36% to $665.8 million.

Federal-Mogul Corporation (FDML)

Federal-Mogul Corp.'s said its third-quarter net income jumped to $15.3 million from $7.2 million in the prior year period. Net sales for the third quarter declined to $1.38 billion from $1.69 billion in the year earlier quarter.

Expedia (EXPE)

Expedia today reported third quarter profit of $117 million, or 40 cents a share, up from $94.8 million, or 33 cents a share, a year earlier. Excluding items such as restructuring costs and foreign-exchange losses, earnings climbed to 48 cents from 39 cents. Revenue increased 2% to $852.4 million.
Earnings top Street expectations.

AutoNation (AN)

AutoNation posted a profit of $65 million, or 36 cents a share, compared with a year-earlier loss of $1.41 billion, or $7.99 a share. Revenue decreased 13% to $2.92 billion.
AutoNation said its massive cost-cutting phase is ending and the company will now focus on growing the business.

Garmin (GRMN)

Garmin shares plunged 18 percent after its Dutch rival TomTom (TOM2.AS) warned of falling selling prices and Google (GOOG.O) made a high-profile entry into the market.
"Google's announcement today introduces new challenges for both Garmin and TomTom and makes the threat from smartphones more real than it ever was before," analyst Yair Reiner of Oppenheimer & Co told Reuters.

Comcast today announced it is launching next-generation DOCSIS 3.0 and making the leap from broadband to wideband in several areas of California, including Fresno, Merced, Modesto, Stockton, Tracy, Tulare, Visalia, as well as Santa Barbara County.
Comcast now offers some of the fastest speeds available today in Central California, including the Extreme 50 tier with download speeds of up to 50 Mbps. Wideband also enables Comcast to double speeds for the majority of existing high-speed Internet customers.

BorgWarner Inc. (BWA)

BorgWarner today reported third quarter net income was $17.2 million, or $0.15 per diluted share, compared with a loss of $130.4 million, or $(1.12) per diluted share, in third quarter 2008. For the third quarter 2009, sales were $1,027.8 million, down 22.0% compared with $1,316.9 million in the third quarter 2008.
Company's CEO said firm continues to be cautiously optimistic about the fourth quarter.
